This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, which includes the ability to work from home, while also requiring to be in person as needed at our Lakeside and/or Clayton Corporate HQ campus locations in St. Louis, Missouri.
As an Engineer 2, you will be responsible for collaborating with management, departments, and customers to identify end-user requirements and specifications for infrastructure monitoring and event management. You will be required to listen to and evaluate customer needs to determine and provide high quality solutions that align with customer expectations. This will involve developing monitoring solutions, automating workflows and using your technical knowledge of professional concepts to solve business problems. You will be responsible for evaluating elements of technology’s effectiveness through requirements gathering, testing, research and investigation and make recommendations for improvements that result in increased quality and effectiveness. You will also be responsible for the administration and maintenance of monitoring and event management tools.
The Event, Logging, Monitoring and Alerting (ELMA) team partners to drive business values through in-depth insights into the health and performance of EHI solutions and products. The position will help provide application performance, systems performance and event management and automation throughout the IT organization. Some of the tasks performed are:
Process customer requests to add, change or remove alerting or monitoring.
Provide guidance around monitoring and event standards.
Aid EHI Problem Coordination by assessing current and historical information to triage current issues and find root cause of intermittent problems.
Configure, disperse and escalate custom alerting to the appropriate team(s) to quickly isolate issues.
Automating work tasks and creating scripted monitoring solutions as we move towards a hybrid environment (cloud, on-prem and hosted).
Deliver performance notifications for unexpected events and scenarios that deviate existing baseline thresholds.
