This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, which includes the ability to work from home, while also requiring to be in person as needed at our Lakeside and/or Clayton Corporate HQ campus locations in St. Louis, Missouri.
The Enterprise Mobility Virtual Compute team focuses on the development, implementation, and execution of VMware-based virtualization and orchestration solutions. As the Manager, you will be responsible for leading the team that deploys, manages, optimizes, and secures Enterprise’s VMware-based virtualization infrastructure. This includes ensuring alignment with vendors and industry best practices while delivering flexible, stable, and cost-effective solutions. The role also oversees forecasting and purchasing virtual hardware for all Enterprise data centers, supporting both virtual workstations and servers.
You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic plans to optimize compute infrastructure operations. This includes determining the time and resources needed to complete assignments and assisting team members in prioritizing and completing assigned tasks and projects where required. You will also be responsible for people management activities, including career planning/support, training, interviewing, hiring, rewarding, disciplining, and performance and salary reviews. As part of vendor management, you will need to plan, forecast, and manage license and support renewals.
As a manager, you must have strong communication and planning skills to effectively manage resource responsibilities across projects that span multiple business units. You will be responsible for implementing changes to improve the team's overall effectiveness, along with ensuring that service levels are met and leading continuous improvement efforts.
