Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on traditional labor law, including representation and unfair labor practice proceedings under the NLRA. 
  • Lead negotiations and application of Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) across 20+ locations in the U.S. and Canada. 
  • Provide strategic consultation to leadership, HR, and operations on long- and short-term labor relations strategies. 
  • Manage grievance and arbitration processes. 
  • Develop strategies to respond to client's labor law issues and counsel clients regarding legal compliance 
  • Develop and foster relationships with internal business partners by understanding the business goals and objectives and providing business related input 
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with labor organizations while advocating for business goals. 
  • Identify the need for and conduct training, presentations, and public speaking engagements.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience (composite) practicing within a law firm as a management side traditional labor lawyer; serving as in-house traditional labor counsel; and/or as a National Labor Relations Board Field Attorney, including expertise in areas of: 
    • Labor relations 
    • Collective bargaining, acting as lead negotiator
    • Grievance and arbitration management 
    • All other aspects of labor law
  • Admission to at least one state Bar in the United States is required, with the ability to qualify with the Missouri state bar
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
