This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, which includes the ability to work from home, while also requiring to be in person as needed at our Lakeside and/or Clayton Corporate HQ campus locations in St. Louis, Missouri.

Responsibilities

IT Vehicle Solutions power our Vehicle Acquisition, Vehicle Operations and Vehicle Remarketing solutions which services multiple client domain areas across Enterprise Mobility. Now is an exciting time to be a part of this team, as we take steps to modernize/stabilize/rationalize products and look to the future of large strategic initiatives in the Vehicle Acquisition domain. A wide range of new opportunities await in this expanding and transforming area of IT.

 

We have an excellent opportunity for a Solution Architect in the Vehicle area. This highly strategic position will split their time between multiple implementation projects, proof of concepts, and internal initiatives. You will design solutions and provide technical consulting to internal clients on highly-complex, global, requirements analysis, architecture, system design, systems integrations, and implementations. To be successful in this role, you will need to be a thought leader and partner with other technologists across the organization. You will need to foster relationships with engineers and architects to ensure we are developing cohesive and comprehensive global solutions that meet the needs of the business.

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert level technical consultations and analyses, solving complex problems
  • Perform leadership role in designing solutions, organizing, attending, and leading hands-on working sessions with the various teams
  • Design solutions at an abstract/conceptual level as well as at a detailed level
  • Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise to the engineering teams
  • Drive continuous improvement in product, processes, and tools; developing and implementing new or enhanced technical methods and techniques to improve the development practice
  • Work with product management, development teams, and Software as a Service (SaaS) vendors to provide feedback and help influence the direction of product roadmap initiatives and product management processes
  • Work with other solution architects to ensure knowledge sharing across the organization and ensure consistent problem-solving approaches are developed
  • Provide mentoring and coaching including hands-on peer code reviews with the engineers
  • Maintain effective relationships with all levels of company management, internal and external customers that promotes understanding and produces results for both parties
  • Stay current on technology trends, new product capabilities, and how they impact our solutions, including obtain an understanding of the Vehicle functions to include general needs, pain points, and compliance requirements
  • Stay current on Enterprise Architecture Guidance and establish collaboration with Office of Architecture
  • Translate complex technical issues and concepts into non/less-technical terminology for stakeholder level of knowledge/understanding
  • Provide recommendations on additional modules, products, or services to enhance client productivity and return on investment for our suite of solutions
  • Develop, document, and maintain strategies, architectural blueprints, and roadmaps
  • Manage solution designs within scope and recognize needs for change requests where required

  • Must demonstrate experience in problem solving, including analyzing requirements, identifying and defining the problem to be solved, collecting data, establishing the facts, drawing valid conclusions and developing solutions
  • Ability to establish and maintain solid working relationships with subordinates, peers, management, teams, business partners, vendors, and departments
  • Must demonstrate a strong customer service support ethic and the ability to deliver the highest, most consistent level of customer service to our customers
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills with professional acumen, both verbal and written, including good listening skills and ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to define architectural considerations and potential solutions, including proactively assessing the technical, cost, support, and risk implications and incorporate these into implementation recommendation
  • Thorough understanding of object-oriented application development principles, concepts, and object-oriented analysis and design
  • Must demonstrate thorough understanding of data management principles, including lifecycle, security, compliance, recovery, and resiliency
  • Proven ability to operate in a highly autonomous fashion. Repeatedly exercises exceptional, independent judgment while balancing strategic and tactical planning

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
  • Must reside in St. Louis, Missouri, or immediate surrounding area
  • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
  • Must have 5+ or more years of related experience
  • Must have experience designing web and mobile-based application architectures, solution architecture, and design principles
  • Extensive experience designing, developing, and supporting large-scale applications
  • Prior experience leading and implementing technical solutions
  • Expertise related to API, including microservices, event driven architecture, REST principles
  • Experience with Database Design and Modeling
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions
  • Experience with SaaS integration

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
  • Technical and/or functional knowledge of Vehicle solutions
  • Experience with Atlassian Confluence and Jira tools
