The API Office within Developer Services is the consumer store front to IT teams looking to develop, publish, and consume APIs. API Office responsibilities include facilitating the API Governance process, stewarding the API Strategy, and setting standards and best practices for how teams should operate in the Enterprise Mobility API ecosystem. The API Office also engages with solution teams to provide consultation and guidance. This includes proactive engagement with application development teams, road mapping, reporting, and product management for new capabilities to the API gateway and event driven architecture platforms.
The API Office team is excited to announce an opening for a Senior IT Product Manager! We are looking for an experienced Product Manager who is passionate about building products for technical customers. In this role, you will collaborate with API development teams to understand their needs related to our API platforms, standards, and processes. You will translate their needs into requirements and will collaborate with teams that will design, build and roll out new capabilities. Our API Practice is currently centered around synchronous APIs but also growing to include asynchronous, event-driven APIs via a new event driven architecture platform. The practice ensures APIs produced deliver value and reusability to the business. Here, you will partner with solution teams to ensure the APIs are well documented in our API Marketplace. You will also be responsible for maturing our practices related to product management.
To succeed, you will need strong communication and interpersonal skills. You will need to work well with both technical resources and senior leaders. Good technical aptitude and a general understanding of APIs and software development concepts will also be key to your success.
