This position offers the opportunity to work fully remote within the United States (except for Alaska and/or Hawaii). Team members who choose virtual / remote work should have an adequate space to serve as their home office, and must be able to work a schedule within U.S. Central Standard Time core business hours. This position will require employees to come on site to one of our St. Louis campus locations a few times per year for meetings/events or as needed. #LI-REMOTE

Responsibilities

As a Lead Test Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the current test automation platform that supports our suite of applications as well as driving improvements. We are looking for a talented individual that can serve as a subject matter expert with the ability to work with the leadership team on implementing an automation strategy and provide valuable metrics. You will design, produce, execute and maintain automated test plans and test cases. Additionally, you will be required to perform code reviews and debug automated test code. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Design, produce, maintain and document detailed automated test plans and test cases based on requirements and specifications 
  • Increase the automation test coverage across all applications 
  • Develops test automation strategy for the department and drives execution of the plan  
  • Works closely with the manual QA testing team to resolve issues identified  
  • Analyzes test results; leverages troubleshooting skills to identify, document, and reproduce issues; provides information to assist in defining root cause 
  • Coordinates and/or conducts re-testing after defects are addressed 
  • Provides and monitors quality control checkpoints throughout the test automation process 
  • Generates appropriate documentation for issue tracking, verification, and certification 
  • Establishes, fosters and maintains positive working relationships within the department 
  • Interacts with other IT teams, business teams, and vendors, as assigned 
  • Performs task automation and implements process improvements; recommends enhancements that result in increased quality and service. 
  • Represents the department as the subject matter expert regarding test automation  
  • May assist with the development of standards, processes, and procedures for the team 
  • Provide automation metrics  

 

Skills and Abilities

  • Expert in software quality and testing methodologies 
  • Good oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with various IT teams and business representatives 
  • Facilitating code reviews of automated test code, debugs automated test code, and maintain associated system level interactions with the automated test code 
  • Assess and evaluate quality assurance test requirements to determine scope of functionality to be covered by the automated testing suite 
  • Maintaining documentation on automation modifications and updates 
  • Performing manual testing, if required 
  • Identify where task automation and process improvements can add value 
  • Maintain established service level agreements to meet customer expectations and quality service 
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills 
  • Work in a fast-paced production environment and can handle multiple tasks 
  • Work independently with limited supervision 
  • Effectively collaborate and work with others in a remote work environment 
  • Ability to be flexible with changing priorities and requirements

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
  • Must reside in the United States (does not include Alaska or Hawaii)
  • Must be able to work a schedule within U.S. Central Standard Time core business hours.
  • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field 
  • 5+ years of combined App Dev and Automation Testing experience with Java, distributed systems, web-based platforms, and web services 
  • 2+ years of database/query experience 
  • Create and maintain complex automated test code, scripts, data, and associated drivers per recognized SDLC methodology (Waterfall, Agile preferred) 
  • Experience with Karate, Selenium, CA DevTest, QTP,CA Lisa or similar  
  • Experience with Git/Jenkins for configuration management and software build/deployments 
  • Experience with one or more open-source test, build, or continuous deployment tools such as: JUnit, TestNG, Selenium Web Driver, Jenkins, Docker, Cucumber, JMeter, Appium, Postman 
  • Experience with JSON, XML, XSD, WSDL, REST and SOAP and a history working with web client software 
  • Experience of the HTTP protocol including an understanding of cookies, HTTPs/SSL, browser caching, HTTP status codes, HTTP headers, how sessions work, and experience identifying vulnerabilities like cross site scripting (XSS)
