This position offers a hybrid work environment, which includes the ability to work from home, while also requiring a semi-regular on-site presence as needed at our Lakeside and/or Clayton Corporate HQ campus locations in St. Louis, Missouri.

Responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Internal Communication Specialist to develop internal communications supporting IT initiatives and employee engagement!

The successful candidate will have experience developing communication strategies and compelling messaging, creating engaging emails, presentations, digital collateral, and other audience touchpoints while using visual storytelling to support these messages. A successful candidate will develop positive working relationships with our stakeholders and act as a key liaison between internal customers and project teams. In this role, you will leverage multiple platforms and channels to develop employee engagement plans that support technical initiatives and other team-centered campaigns.

 

Here, you will collaborate with leadership to craft, organize and promote key organizational messages, ensuring the narrative and tone accurately convey company and IT values to various audiences. You will also track and measure communications activities to assess and improve performance, develop and drive internal communications initiatives, provide thought leadership and perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Our IT Communications team culture is collaborative, fun and encourages fresh ideas and bold thinking.

This position will allow for a hybrid work schedule, requiring a semi-regular on-site presence at both our St. Louis campus locations when needed (Lakeside and Clayton Corporate Headquarters).

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
  • Must reside in St. Louis, Missouri, or immediate surrounding area
  • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
  • Highly independent, motivated communicator with experience developing and executing complex communication and employee engagement campaigns
  • 4+ years in a combination of business communications, creative marketing, marketing agency and/or project management experience
  • Experience creating various types of collateral, including one-pagers/flyers, infographics, presentations, simple digital graphics, etc. while adhering to brand standards
  • Experience leveraging Microsoft communication tools and platforms (SharePoint, Teams, Teams Webinar, etc.)
  • Experience providing instruction, guidance and coaching to less senior team members on new tasks and assignments
  • Ability to support technical teams in developing concise and compelling storytelling
  • Strong project management, time management and organizational skills with a consistent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills — able to communicate effectively and clearly to a broad range of employee segments across the company, including senior leadership
  • Experience creating and leading communication/employee engagement strategies for the rollout of new business or technical initiatives using a multi-channel approach
  • Expert proof reading and editing skills
  • Ability to drive discussions about initiatives and their associated campaigns to create effective deliverables and outcomes
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with the demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks, deadlines and demands
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed environment, executing work for multiple leaders simultaneously
  • Ability to track, manage and use metrics to inform future communication strategies
  • Experience leading teams and influencing/gaining consensus from peers and leaders

Preferred:

 

  • Experience with IT-focused initiatives or communications
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism or related field
  • Experience with Organizational Change Management (OCM) and/or organizational change communications
  • Experience with video storyboarding, recording & editing
  • Masters in communications or MBA
