This position will have the opportunity to provide critical support to various aspects of the business, focusing on privacy and data security.
The Corporate Counsel's primary focus will be providing timely and competent day-to-day legal services on all privacy matters, including cutting edge privacy projects such as connected car, electric vehicles, frictionless travel, franchisee privacy matters, artificial intelligence and other projects privacy matters affecting our global business worldwide. This position will advise on privacy and related laws affecting commercial transactions; advising on international transfer of data; connected car programs and data management strategies; providing regulatory and general legal compliance advice; advising on information security incidents; and effectively coordinating with outside counsel resources. The position will also work closely with Enterprise Mobility’s global legislative affairs team on privacy and data security issues.
This position will provide advice and support at the corporate and local operation level, through contract negotiation, review and drafting, regulatory review, drafting, and compliance, short and long-term legal risk assessment, meaningful partnership and collaboration with the business on strategic legal initiatives, training and managing outside counsel.

This role will require someone that can think through problems, navigate the legal and regulatory environment, and find ways to facilitate all this change. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help develop a practice area while also collaborating with business stakeholders and colleagues in the Legal Group, in their areas of expertise, in Europe, the UK and the North America, working on projects globally as part of these cross-departmental functional teams. The selected individual must be collaborative, creative, efficient, personable and results-oriented – with outstanding oral and written communication abilities and the ability to work seamlessly in a fast-paced, team environment.
This position is located at our Corporate Headquarters in Clayton, MO, with a hybrid schedule (4 days in office).
