Overview

The Commodity Specialist will provide overall management of various assigned Supply Chain Management programs/commodities with an emphasis on marketing services, e.g. creative, research & insights, web development, data analytics, media, etc. by working with outside suppliers, internal customers, and across all company business lines.  This position will understand the needs of the organization across agencies, fulfillment, technology products, and related services available in the market to meet or exceed the requirements of the internal customers for the assigned commodities.  This position will develop, manage, and maintain commodity strategies, supplier strategies, and supplier relationships to ensure best-value of products and services, meet on-time delivery expectations, and investigate new products, equipment, and technology to realize cost savings and process improvements for the company.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate contractual and financial terms in accordance with company legal and privacy compliance standards
  • Regularly meet with business partners to understand business goals and objectives
  • Evaluate potential efficiencies and develop Supply Chain Management implementation strategies for products and services based on business goals and objectives
  • Draft and manage differing PFIs, RFQs & RFPs (RFxs) to provide best total value to end users based on the business goals and objectives
  • Organize cross-functional teams (intra and/or inter departmental) to participate in related sourcing exercises, reviews or agency/supplier management
  • Evaluate processes and competitive pricing/bids from outside suppliers
  • Identify and act on previously unexplored opportunities within assigned commodity
  • Investigate the integrity, capabilities, capacity, etc. of suppliers being utilized/considered
  • Initiate, implement, and support the supplier diversity program to align with company values and ensure supply base compliance
  • Identify and prioritize commodities/programs for sustainability efforts and recommend strategies for proactively addressing relevant issues
  • Develop and manage relationships with key / strategic suppliers and business partners
  • Design and maintain various model types to measure supplier quality, performance, and/or compliance

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or Supply Chain Management 
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
  • Two (2) years of Vendor Management or Supply Chain Management/ Procurement experience (Purchasing, Inventory Control, Analysis, Marketing) 
  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) and/or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) certification(s) preferred
  • Previous experience sourcing marketing related services) preferred
  • Experience in a Procure to Pay operations environment preferred
