    Responsibilities

    As an Engineer 1 you will be responsible for developing, modifying and implementing elements of technology to meet business requirements.  You will have the opportunity to assist in the design, and will work with the team to test, research, and investigate technology options and assist with the requirements gathering of the solutions.  You will be responsible for modifying code/scripts, and developing application code independently using applicable technology.  This is an exciting role in a fast paced, collaborative team that consistently works on high-priority efforts to meet the organizational needs.  We are looking for a self-starter that will maintain established service level agreements to meet business expectations and quality standards. 

     

    Rental Ops and Services is excited to announce an opportunity for an Engineer 1, Software on an Application Development team. As an Engineer 1, Software you will be responsible for developing, modifying and implementing elements of technology to meet business requirements.  You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to handle multiple tasks. You will be responsible for analysis and coding tasks, testing and fixing defects, developing unit tests, performing local development builds and application team builds, actively participating in code reviews, and assists with planning and coordinating implementation activities.  We are looking for a self-starter that will maintain established service level agreements to meet customer expectations and quality standards.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
    • 1 or more years of combined experience with Java development, HTML, and SQL 
    • Experience in Eclipse, InteliJ or other IDE for Java development 
    • Ability to define problems and present solutions along with supporting data to management 
    • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills  
    • Extremely attentive to detail 
    • Strong teamwork abilities in a collaborative environment 
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
    • Required to be on rotation for carrying a support phone and to perform on-call duties
    • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities

    Preferred:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field 
    • Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools such as Scrum, JIRA, and Confluence 
    • Experience with Maven, Git/BitBucket, Jenkins 
    • Experience with Oracle database environment
